* There is nothing to celebrate, the Chenab bridge which was supposed to be constructed within 30 months of award of contract in july 2004, is still not half way through after more than 13 years or 224 months!!!! Earlier estimated cost Rs 550 Crores have already escalated to 1250 crores and by the time of completion, it may be around Rs 2000 crores including the interest during construction. In fact, the Kashmir Rly project which was supposed to cost about Rs 2500 Crores is already estimated to cast over Rs 20,0000 Crores.
