The so called aerodynamic, "200 Kmph" capable loco has '150 Kmph max speed' written in bold letters inside the cab.. There's no use of manufacturing such locos when a normal WAP5 itsel hits 160..

I also think wap7 is more sufficient for most of present TT trains except few. instead of concentrating in 9K HP locos for passengers. IR can concentrate on developing 12K freight locos and other improvement like tracks upgradation to 160 ,Animal passes, etc

Passenger trains need to operate at higher HP/ton. A WAP7 hauled 24 coach train barely operates at 4 HP/ton, and the tractive effort is not really sufficient to comfortably haul longer rakes at consistent speeds. It will always be better to have locos with the highest HP possible within the axle load limits we have.
But personally, I would have vouched more for a high-HP loco or a next-gen passenger loco based on the WAP5, instead of the WAP7.
