the Railways has already been providing this 55% concession to every passenger, effectively addressing the question of restoring concessions for senior citizens and media personnel. Prior to the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020, these groups received a 50% fare concession, which was discontinued after train operations resumed in June 2022. The Indian Railways had previously stated that they earned ₹2,242 crore from senior citizen passengers in the financial year 2022-23.
