The 'via duct' portion of the route, spanning 5.519 km from Bhakti-Shakti Chowk in Nigdi to Mother Teresa flyover in Chinchwad, was awarded to Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd for ₹339 crore. This elevated route will run along the service road from Nigdi to Pimpri. Once complete, the extended line will allow citizens to travel by Metro from Nigdi to Swargate, Ramwadi, and Vanaz. The project will involve track-laying, signal system installation, power supply, and station building, which will be handled separately through a new tender. Construction is expected to begin after soil testing is completed and MahaMetro Executive Director Hemant Sonawane expects the project to be finished on time.
