Agartala Humsafar Express with #offlink SRC WAP4 in "Chord line stretch",BWN-DKAE instead of regular Diesel traction.
•Loco changed at BWN from NGC WDP4D to SRC WAP4 (came light from SRC) & DIVERTED via-DKAE-BTNG-ADL instead of via-Howrah 🔘Date-28.07.19

Last run of 12504/Agartala - Bengaluru Cantt. Humsafar Express through Howrah station on 05.01.20. The train was diverted via-Barddhaman-Bandel-Howrah. This is also the official last Diesel run of this train in ER territory with NGC WDP4D

Andul has good EMU connectivity to Howrah/ Santragachi.......road connectivity is also there...... SER will develop Andul stn for more Northeast bound trains to stop here.....hopeing for this yesrs Railway Budget........
Dankuni EMU connectivity with Howrah is not that good but trains available , Dankuni has EMU connectivity with Sealdah also.....also bus connectivity available there.....

Read slowly with concentration, its too long & complicated if u don't know about routes, So i have given idea about the route first.
TKPR & BTNG are Zonal interchange points. TKPR interchange point 'mainly' takes Load originating from/terminating at Sealdah division, whereas BTNG takes major load originating from/terminating at Barddhaman & further.
🔹The positive point of this TKPR-BTNG route is, it
is double line. The negative point is, No Loops are available at TKPR & LLH (so once an express enters the route after a freight, it has to continue after it for several hours)...AND trains have to wait a long time at Liluah outer (for Ex.TKPR & Ex.BLY freights) & Tikiapara outer (for Ex. LLH freights),for clearance of path.
🔹The positive point of BTNG bypass line is, it is semi-double line with 5 loops at Bhattanagar,3 lines at Bankra,a flyover at Dankuni for Dn direction freights, (so they don't have to take T/O over busy mainline & also fits 2 goods trains),Train can also enter by taking T/O over mainline (humsafar does) and has 4-5 loops at Andul.
🔹Now the question is...Which would be better route for Humsafar Exp?
The answer would be the BTNG route. Because...The freights ahead of the train can be looped at any looping station to give path to the express, after providing precedence,the freight can continue journey & Humsafar would not enter the jampacked SRC HWH section, so it won't get late
🔹Now u can ask why TKPR-LLH bypass is not suitable. The answer is because,
SDAH div randomly sends empty BCN to SE via HWH div. HWH div has to receive randomly & then tries to send them via-Rajchandrapur-Bally-Liluah-Tikiapara. So there is always back-to-back freights in LLH-TKPR route. The freight can't be looped to give precedence to the Express once it enters this bypass line, so the Express will get horribly late.
🔹Again, the main purpose of this diversion is to increase punctuality of 12503. 12503 gets severely delayed b/w SRC-HWH. Further L/C at HWH & providing path to the train affects other trains regularly. So the main purpose is NOT to let the train enter SRC & further...hence they made it run via the most convenient route ADL-BTNG-DKAE.

HI agree with your point....i just want to add to it few more...
The Tkpr-llh route has a 1st crossing just near Tikiapara emu carshed to enter SER main HWH-SRC route.....then 2nd crossing is after the emu carshed towards SRC end to enter the middle line of HWH-SRC route...... now there lies the problem..... when a train enters from liluah side to tkpr ...the down train from Santragachi side towards Howrah has to be stopped at Tikiapara stn till the rake enters 2nd line near tkpr emu carshed..... then agar that rake enter the middle line at tkpr emu carshed end to middle line....and then continues to run till SRC on that middle line...... now that middle line is very busy always
as it is used by mail/ express/, sf trains comming from Src side going towards Howrah stn also that line is used to bring empty rakes of express train from SRC CDO towards Howrah. As a result this train will also get late as it will be detained to enter SER....then add the other point that you said on it was correct. So to pass 1 train from liluah side to Santragachi...many other trains has to be detained or will get is not possible at all......some goods trains goes by that route but they r made to wait for clearance......but an express train or premium train like humsafar cannot bd kept waiting for clearance for long....
As i heard from someone in comming days based on operational data of this Humsafar...some more Northeast to South and West India bound trains will be diverted via Dankuni-Andul route bypassing Howrah stn to decongest Howrah station.

Also after Sankrail-Santragachi Flyover line gets completed....goods trains will be diverted more through that line from Sankrail stn thus decongesting Andul stn platform no 1. This will allow more such trains like this Humsafar exp to use platform no 1 to stop and go to Dankuni side.

As of now, yes it is a freight dedicated line (except a few express service). A double line will help in running more freights without waiting for X-ing (as it now happens in single line section). ER is constructing 2 more loop lines at Bhattanagar for more freight reception, examination, dispatch.
🔹And if u ask for passenger traffic, an inspection trial was conducted jointly by SER/ER using the path.... SRC-TKPR-BLY-RCD-DDJ-Circular Rly MJT-DDJ-RCD-BTNG-SRC... To check EMU operation feasibility through the above route. As of now, there appears no interest of both zones regarding this matter. So it may be concluded that the doubling is for better freight operation.
