Shri Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, South Central Railway, undertook the annual inspection of Duvvada- Rajahmundry section o­n Vijayawada Division today i.e., 22nd December, 2015. Commencing from Duvvada, the inspection covered all the major Railway Stations en route till Rajahmundry.
The inspection commenced at Duvvada Railway Station, with a Guard of Honour presented by the Railway Protection Force personnel to the General Manager. Shri Ravindra Gupta, later took up a window-trailing inspection of the Duvvada-Anakapalle section. He stopped at a Manned Level Crossing Gate between Thadi and Anakapalle stations and carried out a thorough scrutiny of the Gate Cabin, essential safety equipment, approach roads, track visibility, first aid availability, etc.
At Anakapalle Railway Station, the inspection covered the entire circulating area. The General Manager also met a cross-section of Rail users to elicit their requirements. o­n the welfare front, Shri Ravindra Gupta inaugurated a Children’s park at the Railway Colony and interacted with the residents to enquire about the civic amenities available in the area. As another testimony to SCR’s resolve to move towards use of green energy, a 15 KWP Solar Power System has been installed for the Anakapalle Railway Station o­n Platform no.3, which the General Manager inaugurated. He also addressed the local media persons and briefed them about inspection and works proposed for the next financial year. He detailed them about provision of escalator, construction of high level platform etc.
Later, the General Manager inspected a major Bridge between Anakapalle and Bayyavaram and a minor Bridge between Bayyavaram and Narasingapalli stations. He conducted a speed test between Narsipatnam Road and Tuni. Shri Ravindra Gupta inspected the circulating area of Tuni Railway station, Health Unit and inaugurated a 5 HP solar pump in the Tuni Railway Staff Colony.Shri Ravindra Gupta inspected the Over Head Equipment(OHE) Sub-station between Tuni and Hamsavaram and conducted a speed test between Samalkot – Anaparthi Railway Stations. The General Manager inaugurated the newly constructed station building and the operating panel booking office at Kadiyam Railway Station. He inspected a Gang Unit at Kadiyam Railway station and planted saplings in station premises.
The inspection culminated at Rajahmundry, where the General Manager went round the entire circulating area of the station and had a look at all the facilities, the building façade, crew lobby, Accident Relief Train & Medical Relief Van etc. He received representations form Shri A.Satya Narayana, MLA, Rajahmundry Urban. Addressing the media representatives here, the General Manager informed that works for third line between Duvvada and Vijayawada will be taken up after getting necessary approvals. He also announced that Rajahmundry station will be provided with 2 more lifts.
Shri Ravindra Gupta was accompanied by Shri Ashok Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada division; Shri J. N. Jha, Chief Operations Manager; Shri S.N.Singh, Principle Chief Engineer; Shri R.C.Boolchandani, Chief Administrative Officer, Construction; Shri Gajanan Mallya, Sr.Deputy General Manager, Shri Solan Gupta, Chief Electrical Engineer; Shri M. S. Mehboob Ali, Chief Signalling and Telecommunications Engineer; Shri R.R.Prasad, Chief Personnel Officer; Smt. Usha Madalli, Chief Medical Director, Shri B. Vijayabhaskar, Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Services), SCR; Shri D.K.Singh, Commissioner Railway Safety, SC Circle, and other officers during the inspection.
