Base means u mean ballast spreading for laying line? I don't think Almatti sitimani kadlimatti takes place as still one bridge parvati katti has to be constructed.. From gadag end at outer some bridge widening taking place. And their is no any major bridge between Gadag to Holealur and also Holealur bridge pillars ready I think only precast or iron girder need to be placed.. Holealur to Bagalkot section also easy as no major bridge except one at guledgudd entrance from badami side.. Major bridges lie between Bagalkot Wandal section as lot of water logging takes places in rainy season..
In entire Gadag Hotgi section the major section where lot of works involve and delay chances is the Bagalkot Wandal section because u can see lot of water culverts after Bagalkot until mugalolli and also krishna and parvati kati bridges construction which takes time like how Bhima bridge taking so for that they avoided Hotgi lachyan and carried lachyan minchinal so the same plan has to be followed now to to avoid delay in doubling they have to go for sections with no major bridges and complete them until that time those major bridges works will also be finishing and then they can take that section lastly.. In this way work will be finished soon and no wastage of time to wait for bridges for doubling..
May be work will gain pace from Gadag end, but i saw few station work also in Almatti/Kadlimatti. You're right there is a lot of water logging in and around Mugalalli, dam backwaters during peak monsoon. So can we expect next leg of stretch completion as Gadag-Bgk for doubling by 2020?
Hhm I think next target will be between Bagalkot and Gadag section in this way the doubling pace will be good. Even they take Almatti kadlimatti section it will be not ready to commission it entirely as bridges come in between. Bagalkot to Badami 30 km or Gadag to Holealur 45 km is good stretch to take for doubling.. The rail lines set with sleepers are being made in Gadag jn yard and transporting them to Minchinal Wandal doubling.. I saw so many rail set with PSC sleepers loaded on train to send for doubling purpose. Lot of employees reside their itself as they constructed shelter. These rail sets loaded can be seen behind offices after PF 3 where goods loading and unloading place present..

Yes that can be finished early with mostly straight line and less bridges. Wandal-Bgk may go in last leg, because of many bridges and backwater catchment area before Bgk. Ultimately first target will be Vijayapura - Hotgi which includes one major bridge, and later Bjp - Wandal(includes one medium bridge across river Doni) as i heard. In third phase, the target is for Wandal - Gadag with three major bridges in them and many terrain cutting between Lmt - Bgk.

Yes, because i saw final touch up work left for second PF work at Minchnal/Nimbal/Kyatenkeri/Chorgi/Lachyan/Sulerjav algi. Where as Indi and Tadwal are complete ready, Signal are also installed between Minchnal - Lachyan. Hope with some final work they can start plying trains by May this year.
