The Howrah-Delhi rail line has a very chequered history!
Most people believe that there are two railway lines from HWH to DLI,
The main line & the Grand chord line.
However there are actually three seperate pathways from HWH-DLI, constructed by the britishers in three phases!
The first was the Sahebganj Loop, now largely forgotten,... more...
the second the HWH-DLI main line, and the third and the shortest , The Grand Chord.
This train is a tribute to these three railway routes, and will cover all these three rail-lines.
The first train 64789 will run tri-weekly via the Sahebganj loop!
The second train 64791 will run bi-weekly via the main line.
The third train will run weekly via the grand chord.
