It is not the distance between adjacent stops, but the time taken between the 2 adjacent stops that is more important. Here the distance 528km appear very high but the time taken is just 4 hours which is not much for a train meant to be fastest train on route/ of IR.
.
For a 12 hour journey, minimum one stop is compulsory for crew change. Fastest possible run should be with only one stop which may be given at RTM or Kota.

Practically major population centres falling on the on the route like ST (60lacs), BRC (20lacs), Kota (10lacs) have to be taken taken care of and the stops given just fulfil the criteria. MTJ-4.1lacs, RTM-3.5lacs, Bharatpur-3lacs, Bharuch-2lacs, SawaiMadhopur-1.3 lacs, NDA-1.1lacs etc are comparatively much smaller cities. However one more SHS trai may be introduced to serve these cities (in line with AK Raj)
.
Infact Mum may have 3 SHS Rajs-
One non-stop type with a single stop at Kota/RTM(compulsory for crew change)
Second the proposed one to serve major population centers enroute ST,BRC,Kota
Third with stops of AK Raj express to serve all significant towns on the route
