Is it because of the time. Moreover in case of buses i guess the advantage is always their availability at diff points of time. Unfortunate that this might end up close to discontinuation. Hope it does not happen
Just now you commented its raining trains on Belagavi. So if this gets discontinued, then it should be good news rather than unfortunate for you.
What is the usual direction in which tourists travel now?
Many years ago, when Dudhsagar was not as well known as it is now, most of the visitors would come from the Londa side. The people coming from Goa side were usually much lesser in number.
They would take one of the weekly trains at Londa and get down at Dudhsagar, when the train stopped there for the brake test. (People interested in hiking along the railways tracks would get down at Castle Rock or Caranzol). In the evening, they used to get...

Train was PACKED yesterday! Only 5 coaches created a lot of chaos at DWF where a lot of people were waiting to board.

This train is now just 5 coaches long with SLR in the middle. Also, highly unreliable for connections at Madgaon since it gets delayed. Was on time at Castle Rock but got delayed by 2 hours at Dudhsagar Waterfalls and reached Madgaon at 19:15 yesterday. Due to reduction in number of coaches, train was almost full.
