It is true. Even I was wondering with less number of stops why it is having same running time as that of Mail. This train caters as a office goers train between Cannanore and Kasargod, and for college and school students who goto Mangalore on regular basis. It runs jampacked on weekdays between Cannanore and Mangalore. Vice versa in the reverse direction too.

When it was running as special (around 2009), the stops were even lesser. Even then, it used to struggle to maintain punctuality.

Now that the previous arrival time of 9am is relatively free, maybe some oher train could be planned to be received in that slot. Also the 3rd pit line in MAQ modification is being done (to accommodate 24 coach train). It is expected to be completed in July-Aug. Earlier only trains with 17-18 coaches could be handled. With that 3 pit lines can hande 24coach trains and thus handle more trains
