Be it via new electrified prayag-phaphamau-janghai route( which im sure will be completed by jan 2015) or rambagh -manduadih route ( as per reports will be speeded up to 110 km/h in near future)
It can serve as reverse Varuna...and faster by atleast an 1hr.

Jaishwal jee ne gadi chalayi ....teil khatam aadhe raastey ...chale thay kashi nahane..sangam gota maar wapas kanpur aagaye.

Ideally, it's extension to BSB/muv wud have been better. Reverse Varuna. ;-)
but NCR prefered extension within its territory. No surprise if NR/NER wud denied too.
