Booked...
more... an ola cab to reach the station just past 8PM just in time to see the Erode WAP4 crawl out with the Cape a.k.a Island Express legend, blocking the view of Udyan. PF-8 as usual had the LHB Rajdhani awaiting departure and PF-7 with tthe Marikuppam bound DMU 76519 sporting an empty look awaiting 8:15 departure. 12677 from ERS had already settled on PF-4 and PF-5 had the Karwar/Kannur Link waiting. and PF-6!!!! Surprise- KJM WDG-3A stood a few metres away detached from the 56213 having arrived 15 mins before schedule. AJJ WAG5 leapt out from yard and ran towards the siding to get attached to our rake. The Extra SL coach had come all the way from MYS for a change this time
At 20:48hrs the AJJ WAG5 gave out its horn. Our coach S5 of 2000 was a coach that cant be described. Was in worst possible condition especially to think the rake had its maintainence at MYS. All LED boards of the rake showed its own displays as 16228 Express, 56234 Pass and 56213 Pass but then why should they put up these boards. Anyway we slowly pulled out just to cross an entering WAP7 pulling a on time (Well definitely on time coz 30 mins delay is a definite ontime for a train with avg 3 hrs delay) 12296 from Patna
Slowly pulled into BNC, pulled out and moved to next stop at Baiyappanhalli at 9:08PM where slight late running WAP7 hauled 12607 Lalbagh crawled in literally unexpected for this train with a tight schedule. anyway we pulled out to land on PF-2 of KJM where GOC WDP-4B came in with before time arrived 16339 Nagercoil-Mumbai Express with a huge crowd awaiting to board. Devangonthi, Malur were despatched with stop start hauls with speeds barely exceeding 60kmph. Departure from Malur at 10PM crossed us a WAP7 hauled 12027 late running shatabdi with 50% occupancy considering the long weekend approaching the next day
Time to put up the berths and went to toilet to find it without lights and latches. Went to the next coach and used it the same and came back to lay down on the berth and was fast asleep.
Dhak dhak dhak dhak grrrrr grrrr the coach was bouncing up and down. On the strech beyond BWT AJJ WAG5 has decided to show its powerrs but our coach was well beyond that- any speed in excess of 70 we were getting bounced up and down and I was finding it tough to settle on the UB. The shock absorbers seemed to have one for a toss and we were tossed up and down like balls sent across for the boundary.
anyway settled for a sleep again... Dhud dhud dhud sound woke me up. Lot fo sounds and screeches from the door. Continous banging and suddenly a gang of UR boarded the coach trying to occupy available space on berths waking up all the sleeping passengers,. announcements went for the SBC-GHY Express to arrive on Pf-2 and 17230 Sabari Express on Pf-3 while the UR passengers created a ruckus. anyway it was a 5 minute ordeal as the RPF and TTE chucked them out asking them to occupy the Gen compartments and locked the doors. Back to sleep again..
Next time I woke up it was 5:40AM and train had halted somewhere. TPTY West had been crossed and we were waiting for clearance. got up and refershed just in time to see us entering TPTY at 5:45AM onto PF-1 with a BZA barbie doll on PF-2 and BZA WAP1 entering PF-3 with the 17210 Seshadri Express entering slowly
