As of now, only Mysore-Shimoga intercity express is going till talaguppa and it leaves Shimoga at 11:50am and reaches talaguppa by 2:15pm. In return, leaves talaguppa at 2:30pm and reaches Shimoga by 4:45pm. Comparatively travel time is ok as buses also take 2 hrs or more to reach Talaguppa from Shimoga. At present, this train wont serve as connecting train to Bangalore bound trains from Shimoga.
Rail bus (242SW) is not running any more after the meter gauge got converted to broad gauge.
U can travel by jan shatabdi exp upto birur from sbc to go to talguppa as connecting train. in return direction from talguppa to bang there are no connecting trains
For return journey also, same combination holds good as one can travel from Talaguppa in Mysore express and change to Janshatabdi express at Birur.

Rail bus has been canceled as the route is about to finish Gauge conversion. for tat new train has been started upto 75% of that route.

Train is running on all 7days with 5 unreserved coaches.

Yup from birur to shimoga town its BG and Gauge conversion was started from shimoga towm to taluguppa very recently. Even gauge conversion work has been in good speed and about to complete within few months.
