No. Even if the route is circuitous, it's important in terms of providing connectivity. The current route of Budhpurnima is right.
And huge numbers of people board this train for Gaya - Bhabua section especially from Patna.
As Nalanda have a few trains only, the route is important as it is the sole connection to the districts of southern Bihar.

It's primary maintenance is at BSB. So, LKO extension is not feasible.

I think yahi best h, in the interest of this train, ECR ki gaadi hi rahe ye, NR was never a good fit..

ECR hates running trains that are not of Danapur division. Prime example ECR own the train SGRL BSB intercity and can be easily terminated at Mughal sarai ( DDU ) but not they just want Coal from Dhanbad division and keep their records intact in earning.

Ek bhi baar me 2-3 saal tak ke liye cancel kar dena chahiye. As LKO/NR ko utna time to lag hi jayega BSB yard remodelling works me.
