The reason for diversion is avoid reversal at VIJAYAWADA. Time saving 15mins. The other side station is not too much congested at 2100 or 700 have enough of PF. From Feb 15th , 2 3AC coaches are augmented to this train. It is good news the this weekend train, at the same time if they speed up this train, passengers would be more happy. And also if SCR provides LHB to 12727/28 , it will be good.

speed up is required both sides lot of slack is given but i think 1915 is difficult to reach at 650 as it need to overtake Charminar BZA 100/105 or alternative is to divert via bypass then possible
Now , it can go via GNT also if it starts around 19:30. It can act as good alternative to GNT - VSKP. No hindrance for Charminar or GR in both up and down directions.
