Due to the negligence of the locomotive pilot and assistant driver, the Mathura-Hawada-Chandauli Express (12178) coming from Mathura to Hawada Junction at around 11:15 pm on Monday crossed the red signal at a speed of 130 kilometers per hour near Bhabua station in Bihar in the Mughalsarai division. The train reached the loop line after crossing the red signal. Luckily, there was no train on the loop line, otherwise there could have been a major accident. Locomotive pilot M. Ram and assistant driver M. Oravan of the Dhanbad division, who were taking the train, have been fired. Passengers on the train were startled when it suddenly came to a stop in the loop line and they also got off. The employees immediately informed the authorities about it. Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Gupta of the Mughalsarai division went to the scene at night. Officials from the East Central Railway Hajipur Zone and the PDDIU Division also arrived at the scene at night. The investigation of the entire incident will be conducted by the Chief Protection Officer, East Central Railway, Hajipur Zone. Due to late application of brakes, the train crossed the red signal. The case will be investigated by a high-level committee. The guilty locomotive pilot and assistant driver have been fired.
