Almost 4 hours late running 12735 SC-YPR Garibrath Express, slowly skipping YNK at 11:30AM, hauled by LGD WAP-4 #22355. It was supposed to skip YNK at 07:50AM. This train reaches YPR on time on most of its runs, but 4 hours late was something I never thought would happen and it surprised me. I was waiting for 19567 TN-OKHA Vivek Express, travelling from YNK-ATP. This picture was taken around 5 years ago.

YPR-SC Garib Rath is one of my favorite and most convenient train for me to travel between Bangalore and Hyderabad. I've travelled more than 20 times in this train till now. But there is one thing I still don't understand about it: Upto GTL, it runs either 10-15min before time or dot on time. After GTL, it always delayed between GTL and LPI. Sometimes by 45min, sometimes 1hr and even 1hr 30min+ sometimes. Once it got 2hrs delayed. It wasn't weather conditions either. Even though this line is doubled and electified fully, many trains in this route are frequenty delayed. Does anyone know the reason?

I had the exact same question, as I'm sure many others do too! :-)

Searched around and it seems like many others trains are also cancelled similarly "to carry out essential safety work related to rehabilitation of unlined portion of Tunnel No. 65A in between Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam- Basampalle stations of Bengaluru division."
