The train run schedule dont need any viable catering option to b run on-board as its strictly overnight with quite early ARR!!
Smetimes in such train, u get catering @ AC Coach (like LKO Mail/Varuna Exp where On-Board Catering is a big no, but u gonna find IR assigned vendor @ AC Coach who cater the demand. Even Varuna Exp CC Staff can b seen to serve KOTA-PNBE Exp)!!

Atleast a slip portion from SCT can be attached to 22622/CAPE-RMM SF Exp @ TEN.it helps on connecting SCT/TSI with Ramanathapuram and rameswaram.Connects coutrallam with rameswaram.may be useful for pilgrims and tourists.

Why this train via Madurai Jn.? Why not through Tirunelveli - Manmadurai Jn. ? It will save 30 klm.

This train runs through Tirunelveli-Madurai-Manamadurai.
This was introduced in 2009 when MNM-VPT GC was going on. Hence it is routed via MDU.

This train is used to connect the pilgrimage centres of TN namely Kanniyakumari, Madurai and Rameswaram. Many passengers and pilgrims all over India visit the temples and Hill station (Kodaikkanal) in and around Madurai. Thats why this train runs through Madurai.

pls see this entry .. very poor Name board design by TEN.. Not even train number is mentioned in the board. Atleast English should have been added .. Person who does not know to read Tamil wll literally struggle /blog/post/1210863
Comparatively rmm coaching depot is far better and they r maintaining a very neat name board for there trains. Similarly Coimbatore coaching depot also has a very neat name board.
Yup .. In SR , CBE,MAS,RMM,TVC,ERS does a good job. CBE is awesome. TPJ,PGT,TEN should improve
We should not look at name boards alone. Entire coach maintenance should be compared. I can say TPJ tops in terms of coach maintenance in SR.
