After an overnight journey from Pune - Delhi (6E 6698) & Delhi - Lucknow (6E 6612) in IndiGo flight. I had two options to further continue my journey upto Kanpur. Either take a bus or train from Lucknow. Being an avid Railfan, I had to go with the train journey.

So, I chose 24227 Varanasi - Kanpur Central Varuna Express. I had made the booking almost a month prior to the day of travel. My coach & seat number were C1 & 55 (Window Seat).

Sharp at 7:30 I reached at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport, Amausi, Lucknow. From there I took an Uber ride upto Lucknow Charbagh. A friendly Sardarji was my driver that day who kept talking with me throughout the distance. When I reached LKO station, two of my old friends from Pune (who're now in Lucknow) came to meet me at the station. While being in their company, the slack time went by in the blink of an eye.

The train scheduled to arrive on PF-7 (where I was waiting) instead came on PF-3. We immediately rushed to that platform. I grabbed my seat and said my good-byes to the friends. The train departed after an halt of around 10 mins. On the way we came across several trains which includes 12430 New Delhi - Lucknow AC Express, 12232 Chandigarh - Lucknow Express, 14854 Jodhpur - Varanasi Marudhar Express, 12542 Mumbai LTT - Gorakhpur Express, 11109 Jhansi - Lucknow Intercity Express, 13167 Kolkata - Agra Cantt. Express, 12004 New Delhi - Lucknow Swarna Shatabdi Express and a pair of freights.

Varuna Express arrived on PF-2 of Kanpur Central. With this my 12 hour journey from Pune to Kanpur in three phases was concluded. And I had finally reached my hometown.. :)
