Sure, as the TLGP-MYS ICE is empty for all days from ASK to MYS it would be a better option with family to reach MYS by night. Don't worry about the short time gap (45 mins) at ASK as Chalukya is generally very punctual and reaches ASK on time and YPR before time (by 20.45- 21.00) barring unforseen situations. ASK has good snacks options and stalls to munch food as well just in case.
In fact I have heard that Bus connectivity between ASK and MYS is also decent, however I have not used this option personally. Other members may share more light on this aspect as well.

Mera cousin uska family ke saat March month mein SL pe travel kiya.Usne bola iss train mein koi problem nahi hai.Matlab ye safe hai.But take care of your belongings by using chains etc.For extra safety

Sorry for late reply I don't have much idea about this train but better is go to TGP MYS ICE as one of the member said as it will be shorter route to Mysuru and you reach early also instead going via Bengaluru.

You don't have to travel till YPR in Chalukya and then hop over to SBC.
Get down at ASK and you can board 16205. It is a safe option and you can reach Mysuru at 10:15 itself.
