Another political and unwanted extension.. The train is running with huge WL today. Infact no more booking is even allowed today but still 300+ seats are available in current reservation between Katihar and Maldah.The trains has only 5 sleepers so its quite clear that about 89% of the reservations has been done from Maldah itself. Earlier peplw of Maldah used to book directly from Maldah and now they would have to pay an extra amount and book from Kaithar and change their BP to Maldah .320 seats out of 360 seats has been booked from Maldah.

Train no 53003/53004 recently extended and the new train no is 13033/13034. Previously the train was a passenger train and named as Howrah-Malda Town Fast Passenger. It took 11 hrs 15 mins to reach Howrah from Malda Town station.Now after changing it to an express train, the same train is taking 11 hrs to reach the same distance. The problem is the fare is charged for express, but the passengers from Malda, Murshidabad district cannot avail the express fare facility.
