Extension demand

Thiruvananthapuram - Nagercoil 56311/56316 passenger train(conventional rake) to change as MEMU train and extended up toTirunelveli as operate Thiruvananthapuram - Tirunelveli MEMU 4 serviceper day

Early in 1983s, there was a direct passenger train service between Trivandrum and Tirunelveli (Train no.387/390). This was discontinued later due to reasons beyond our knowledge and wisdom. But till now no alternative arrangement was made to connect Tirunelveli to Trivandrum with passenger train service. Nagercoil-Tirunelveli is the only section in Southern Railway which does not have enough passenger train service.
