Daund pitline is required, as it can reduce the load of Pune Station, and all the trains going towards Gujrat, Rajasthan can be extended over here, also some intercity express like Pragati, Deccan, Sihagad express can be extended and do PM at Daund jn
bro deccan exp extension upto daund jn almost impossible the train has 4hrs lieover at pune jn and 15:15 dept from pune so extending deccan exp wont be a good option and rake sharing is with mao js so it wont be feasible at all
Daund Pitline is fine and dandy, but Mumbai Pune Trains should be left untouched, instead some long distance trains of Pune should be extended to Daund. this might free up some slots at Ghorpuri Coaching Depot and help give new connections to Daund.

The train can be ran as KSR-Vasco panchaganga express. It really need to be extended. Needless to say it would be a connectivity not just for Bangalore people but also for chennai people if we could catch this by taking intercity or something. Vasco is also in SWR so this train could be extended easily

I mean they can still keep general quota for coastal KA and give lesser seat for Vasco I assume like Remote Location
I am from Kumta, KA & regular observe this train. Demand is so much. Train almost gets fool at Kumta/Honnavar itself, remember there are still big towns like Udupi, Byndoor, Bhatkal, Kundapur, Murudeshwar, Surathkal ahead.
As per Railway rules, Originating station gets General Quota, they can't do away with it & give other quotas. The quotas you mentioned are applicable from Intermediate stations.

The Already running UR Special between Karwar - Madgaon - Karwar has cause lot of damage to 16595/96 & affected permanent cancellation of another train too. Many do book online & travel till Karwar & changeover at Karwar. GS only 2 coaches, that gets full at Karwar +2 stations.
Like in every zones, there are some sections that are Neglected, Here too.

I regularly travel by this train, & this the only night train we have to our Capital, getting ticket is too difficult even after booking 1month in advance !!! I have travelled in all classes from 1A, including GS sitting near door for 12hrs as we dont get ticket in this train. Such is the rush !
Instead SBC-Kannur should be rerouted to run upto Vasco, that would reduce the burden on this train.
