I guess unless Pune-Wadi section is electrified trains going beyond Pune will continue with their respective Diesel Links.

Subhash, what i am saying is don't run diesel on an electric sector. Why run a specialized WCAM on a sector where a WAP/WAM can do the job. Tell me why is the 12293/94 Duronto Express using a WCAM when some of the other trains are using WAP or WAM's?
WCAM engines are more valuable to trains working on the CST line, what are they doing hauling trains out of LTT ? A typical train from CST to Pune takes 4 hrs, so for a up & down run of 8 hrs IR is literally blowing smoke in the face of electrification. IR has been using WAG's on passenger trains & most of the time i have found the trip shed

IR should use electric engines until Pune atleast. It is a criminal waste of precious diesel when trains like Indrayani Express, Siddeshwar Express, Udyan Express run on diesel instead of WCAM's on the Mumbai - Pune sector.

Folks in this forum will continue to give the standard reply of "it's a waste of time" as if we are not aware of that. There are several routes like this where diesel is being wasted every hour unnecessarily. The effect of this wastage will have cascading effects 10 years down the line.

Well Raghu, all we can hope is that someone reasonably high up in the railway administration reads our concerns & perhaps tries to make a change. Passing the buck to the next guy can only work so long.
