i travelled on 23rd march nagpur to howrah ., due maoist problem it runs abt 7hrs 30 mins late ., but during journey smooth & on time vide revised scdl(.)
irctc which as per budget in on to go out for booking ., but surprisingly irctc pantry between s/10 & s/9 ., they charge tea at rs.5/- against menu rate rs.4/- (in t.nadu express printed paper glasses) ., vs tomato soup in t.n.exp(12622) rs. 10/- janneswari its at rs. 11/- (.)
if one insist for bill irctc logo cap wearing staffs state...

"irctc" is now closed ., they are private ., they now w.e.f. 1st march subject to service tax ., thus soup rs. 11 (.)
janneswari they claim is diffrent divisional train ., ths menu rate published by irctc is different for different zone.
further rate are rs. 11 ., problem for change ., or they put rate at rs. 28 or amounts near 8/0 thus retains or rather do not wish return change .
against normal rules even if budget impose serv. tax it will come into effect from 1st april ., not like customs / excise i.e. wef 1st march .
why not moderator recomments that irctc paste non-removable price list chart on trains serving food thru pantry / otherwise i.e. near tte chair so that un-cerimonial charges are not taken and amounts ARE rounded to near 5 or 10 so that retaintion or non return of change do not become practice .
more even irctc in name of cooling the water at ndls (platform 3) on 21 march 12622 express coach near s/13 charges rs. 15/- for rail neer against rs.12 ., thus on trains or platform there exists no uniformity .
this service tax issue is explained by pantry manager with whom i went and talked personaly on 23rd march between gondia & durg station and for tea at rs. 1 extra n soup at yet rs. 1 extra service tax & different zones different rate was explained . i think if moderators can write or fwd this to irctc ??
