" I have,by virtue of my seniority due to age, acquired some kind of expertise(?), in booking tickets under the LB quota, for me and my wife, SEVERALLY and NOT JOINTLY, meaning separate tickets and not combined tickets. In all such cases, we are always under STRESS as to whether we would be allotted berths in separate or same coaches. Now take a look at my recent bookings.

Mostly it goes as "I have now arrived at the conclusion that if the NUMBER OF AVAILABLE VACANT BERTHS IS AN EVEN NUMBER, THEN my wife & I get berths in the SAME COACH.
However, if the NUMBER OF AVAILABLE VACANT BERTHS IS AN ODD NUMBER, THEN my wife & I get berths in DIFFERENT COACHES"
But not always, some days ago my cousin has to book 2 berths under LB quota separately from MTJ to NZM in SL class. In train 12903/Golden Temple 6 berth were available. This train has 14 berths...
