What exactly is PNR Prediction ?
And when someone predicts as Confirm OR RAC OR WL, does he/she do any kind of study based on PNR numbers / DOJ / Train No. etc or is it PURE PREDICTION.
Meaning just a GUESS Work? Or is there any SYSTEMATIC way of predicting.
Please put some light on this aspect.

Systematic predicting based on various rules, but still Guess work only !!
Experience, exposure and a continual observation with concurrent information which in combination is called RESEARCH.

This PNR predication may be same as u said i.e Guess or Systematic analaysis also.. depending upoon the person who predicts.. thats y for every Predicted Person the site is displaying the percentage of accuracy on his/her previous predictions.
But the main Concept/Role behind this prediction is to guide (or) to give information to the passenger to take decision about his journey prior to chart preparation if his /her ticket is in RAC or WL ..

it site is upgraded to extent that predictors every fornight get update of their worng predictions abt w.l/rac/or confirm etc then it will perculate experience besides the present which is not guess alone ., yes to some extent have experience of regular users of trains ., thus predictors who are above 1000 predictions & abv 50 % rights need be sent fortnightly compilations in respect of wrongs i.e. with right answers it will improve the site !!
But the PNR prediction Does not depends on "PNR Numbers " (which u mentioned in ur query, but this prediction depends on DOJ & Train ..etc)it is a unique Number given to different Tickets to get status of this ticket.
