What is the first run date of this train ?
Was it a special in the beginning and then regularized (like 01013/01014 - 11003/11004 DR-SWV-DR Rajyarani Express) ?
Does anybody know the story ?

Guess it was one of the earliest train to be introduced on KR- And for KR Zone they had kept all train numbers starting with "0".

97 is not possible because Kokankanya was extended upto Madgaon in Jan 1998.
And I'm sure Mandvi was introduced after that somewhere in 2000.

It was started on June 7, 1999. It was started as Mumbai - Madgaon Intercity. Later on Intercity's time table was taken by CST - Madgaon Jan Shatabdi (now DR-KRMI) so it was made as Express and was given RSA with Konkan Kanya in 2002.
