Honestly I think It would be too much to expect them to tinker with existing schedules and routes on a scale which you suggest them to be. Once the doubling this done, it may get speed up, that too in phases. Some out of the box ideas like linking BNC side with SBC side, new lines WFD to some where else which u mentioned sometime before are too much for a British era govt agency with little modernization plans and few talented people who can execute those plans.
But here is the anti climax. We all xpect them to increse the speeds and reduce the travel time once a line is doubled in say 3-5 years. But simultaneously during those 3-5...
