Even though it is electrified, as of now its of no use as no train towards Tumkur is hauled by a Electric loco.
It is single track and mainly used for goods train going from SGT/DEVANGONDHI towards TK,ASK etc and vice versa
Trains from JTJ and HSRA side should make use of this byepass line to run towards TK.This avoids LR at YPR also. Say for example, MAS-UBL/VSG and KCVL-UBL can use this line. Even PDY/TEN-DR Chalukya can take this route and save more than 2 hours in its run, if Bengaluru gets another proper train to Mumbai.
Such byepass trains should have a halt at KJM for use of Bengaluru public. YPR PF congestion can be avoided to some extent.

It can save more time, but no body will agree for that. Can give stoppage at Chikkabanavara/Lottegollahalli station instead of YPR.
