Salem-Baiyyappanahalli-Yelahanka towards north
I see no trains take Salem-Hosur-Baiyyappanahalli and proceed northwards through Yelahanka and beyond. Is there any reason? All the north bound trains passing through Bangalore take KJM Yelahanka route.

The route you mentioned Salem-hosur-baiyyappanahalli doesn't connect to yelahanka route. If needed a train has to undergo reversal at bbaiyyappanahalli to join yelahanka route
New by pass line (just 2 km) between Hebbal and Lottegollahalli will solve the problem of loco reversal at YPR/ SBC for trains from Hosur towards YNK.
Also, a 15 - 20 Km line branching from Bellandur via Varthur to Whitefield will link SBC-MAS line to SBC-HSRA line without loco reversal. Also, this can be used to run trains from Chennai to Hosur directly. Long distance passengr trains from YNK side can stop at KJM and further run via Whitefield - Bellandur to join HSRA line. Will reduce congestion at YPR/ SBC tremendously.

this could also be possible if there is a right turn at KR puram from Hosur side towards KJM.
At KR Puram, area is totally congested. May not be possible. But near Hebbal-Lottegollahalli, a branch/ bypass line crossing the ring road is easily possible.
