Today i am travelling from surat to dahanu in paschim express having M/E ticket. then ticket checker penalties me 270 Rs. because they told me you do not having superfast train ticket..is it right reason for penalty?? plz tell me.. bcause he try to settlement 100 rs. bt i m not ready to do this. i want to know rules for all this matter to stop corruption.

I beleive there is distance restriction in this train... Coz my dad had to to travel to Surat few years back in dis train n booking clerk gave the tickets upto Vadodra n he did mention abt distance restriction dat time..
12925 mein BRC tak ka restriction hai 12926 mein koi restriction nahi hai
all trains numbers starting with 2 or 12 are super fast trains, and you need SF ticket to travel in them. if you hold ME/Mail Express tickets then purchase super charge by paying Rs 20 the booking counter.
270 is too much. Its for unintended crossing if my memory serves me rite. You have ticket, but not of SFE, the fine should be lesser i believe.
A slip against payment is the best way to b conform, if u paid difference only or more!!!
Penalty in IR are always at higher side, just to keep check over mistakes..as eventually rs. 20 doesnt look big & fine against the same would be mere rs 50, high chance exist to avoid that extra 20 bucks, as mayb u dnt get checked on board!!!
Once a fellow in SL was checked and fined (not fined but paid to RPF) & was totally frustrated as he holds ticket but still...neither RPF nor fellow...
