We all have heard about Suvidha Express from Patna to mumbai, now with sleeper coaches also. But i think instead of opening Suvidha train, railway had to start Garib rath Superfast from Patliputra to Pune via mumbai (kalyan - panvel - karjat). As both cities has many students and working class people from bihar. It would have been a good option for both cities commuters.
The stoppages also would have been limited so that run on time. Like Patliputra - danapur - ara - Buxar - mughal sarai - jabalpur - itarsi - khandwa - manmad - kalyan - panvel - pune. With only 3-tier and chair car.

Oh sry.. I meant " Railways won't think of providing lhb comfort while they ask such nominal fare from Garibrath passengers. " and if they increase the fare then the meaning of GR's concept would be at stake. So, GR's will continue with icf coaches :) and there will be no new GR in future.

Unlike regular 3A coaches, Garib Rath coaches have Side middle berth and therefore increased capacity. Thats one of the reasons why GR fares are lower, because the economy works out better with increased capacity at a slight loss of comfort of course. The production of these as mentioned by other bloggers, is stopped. If a train has to be started with conventional coaches now(ICF or LHB coaches), it cant be a GR coz it would have to charge regular 3A fares owing to lesser capacity compared to GR coaches. So no more GR rakes, cant use ICF/LHB coaches, so unlikely for such a train to start!

Railway can introduce Garib Rath with regular 3A LHB coaches and chair car coaches at proportion. Because people can pay for good services if introduced. But yes name can be changed from garib rath to Janta Rath. Chair cars should be given preferences in Garib rath so that more people can board the train.
