According to my observation , BARUIPARA is the best station for video railfanning on Howrah - Asansol Route of ER . I have few points that support my argument and they are :-
1) Superfast trains like Rajdhanis , Shatabdis & Durontos (incl Punjab Exp) can be seen rapping at very high speeds (as per IR Standards) of 120 - 130 Kmph .
2) Fast trains like Howrah - Amritsar Mail & Shipra Exp can be seen cruising at high speeds of 115 - 120 Kmph .
3)
...
Slow trains like Lal Quila Exp & Janata Exp can be seen traveling at average speeds of 110 - 115 Kmph .
4) Lastly , EMUS and Goods trains can also be seen going at below average but good speeds of 90 - 100 Kmph .
Plus , the environment & surroundings are very good , with palm n coconut trees ; clean and renewed platforms . Baruipara is only 27 Kms from Howrah Jn . Now please comment on Baruipara Stn (photographed on IRFCA & videographed on youtube) . Thanks .

Yes Railfan, I know Baruipara very well as I was once stranded there for 6 hrs while travelling from Howrah to Asansol by 12019 Howrah Ranchi Shatabdi Express. Both breakfast and lunch were served by the catering staff at the same station. I finally reached Asansol at 3 pm instead of 8.30 am, after the train resumed its journey with police assistance.
It was a BANGLA BANDH call given by a fringe political party protesting against the abolition of ENGLISH as a subject in WB govt. schools. This happened sometime in 1997.
