I worked in the local Agricultural Development Branch of SBI here for 2 months from Sept to Nov 1975. The branch was located to the right of the station board and visible from the PF. Used to stay in a hotel in Krishnanagar which was 40 kms away and used to return to the hotel by the Lalgola Pass leaving Debagram at 5.15 pm or therabouts. I used to work till the time of the scheduled arrival of the train, till the Bank's security guard would come and tell me that the semaphore signal for my train was on and my train was just 5 mns away. I would then pack up and leave for the station, a mere stone's throw away and comfortably board the train.
