it won't help.
according to Rayleigh's scattering law, scattering is inversely proportional to Fourth power of wavelength. hence if you have any sort of beam with a wavelength as small as that of visible light it will be scattered.
the only way is to go for longer wavelength, like Infra red or Microwave.
Plus as Koush sir mentioned it will be an operational hazard,...
