Grievance Description :
Sir, at present for the people of odisha to travel to state capital, there is a train running Odisha sampark kranti express. But the punctuality of the train is very poor. Through out the year it reaches very late at its both destinations i.e Anand Vihar delhi and Bhubaneswar. The most serious problem arises while arriving Anand Vihar delhi railway station. Its arrival time at delhi is night 20:50 pm but it always reaches there after midnight 12 o'clock, due to which the passengers going to the destinations become very risky and unsafe. This train runs well before time till Mughalsarai station. But it gets severely delayed between Mughalsarai and Kanpur due to very heavy traffic rush here. Already its been announced by railways authority that this Northern central railways Allahabad region is fully congested and further new trains can't be added. I just have one suggestion to tackle two problems in one step: 1. Improving the punctuality of odisha sampark kranti 2. Reducing bit traffic rush at Allahabad Just reroute the train between Mughalsarai and kanpur via Varanasi-Sultanpur-Lucknow with providing halts at Varanasi and Lucknow. So the new route can be made as Bhubaneswar-Hijjli-Tatanagar-Mughalsarai-Varanasi-Lucknow-Kanpur-Delhi. At present odisha sampark kranti runs without any halts between Mughalsarai and kanpur, so rerouting the train will hardly affect people. Moreover by this re-routing odisha people will get a better option for travelling to Varanasi and Lucknow cities. Due to this re-routing hardly just 15-20 minutes extra journey time will be increased, but the punctuality will gets fully improved and also Kanpur-Allahabad-Mughalsarai stretch will also get bit less busy.
Current Status : CASE CLOSED
Date of Action : 21 Jan 2016
Details :
Indian Railways makes continuous efforts to run trains on time, however, trains do run late due to various reasons like inclement weather, bandh, Hartal, strikes, many of which are beyond the control of Indian Railways. Despite best efforts of Indian Railways, trains services over North Central Railway are not able to maintain their punctuality owing to severe line capacity constraints on the North Central Railway in view of quantum rise in the number of services presently being operated which include both passenger traffic and goods traffic.
Now this is 3rd time i have sent the same grievance for Odisha sampark kranti. And its the 3rd different answer i got.
1st time they replied, changing the route causes huge problems for travelling passengers. (This i got in Dec 2013)
2nd time they replied, we are looking into implementing the same and after proper suggestions and discussion with railway board and all intermediate zones, if feasible route will be changed. (This i got in march 2014;just before the elections)
3rd time is this pg reply i got today.

The route as per highest to lowest congestion :
1. MZP-ALD (Badly congested;no train can be added)
2. BSB-SLN (All the new trains are starting via this route only;as electrification is done)
3. BSB-PBH (Has good number of train;and i think its the best route as of now for BSB-LKO;single line is less as compared to

AY-FD route).
4. BSB-AY-FD (This has least traffic but the track conditions are very poor and single route at maximum areas with low mps;i think 90 kmph is allowed)
5. BSB-BHLP-GYN (Just like AY-FD, this also is fully single diesel and if more trains added then traffic will become very huge)
6. BSB-BOY-JNH-PFM-ALD (I think this is the best route as of now; It does not have much of traffic;fully electrified;and good 110 mps;only glitch is single line but doubling is going on.)
So as of 2 routes on which some of the ALD-MGS trains could be shifted is BSB-BOY-JNH-PBH or BSB-BOY-JNH-ALD route.

But they should think upon changing those trains which have no halts or barely any halt.

Same issue with Nandankanan & Neelachal Express towards NDLS arrival. No body of NCR/NR cares for these trains.

Yes.
Neelachal still somedays runs with less than 1 hr delays, but nandan kanan never runs less than 4-5 hrs delay.

The bridge is double only, but yes its too old and has MPS of 20 kph only, apart from that there are few minor bridges near BSB, that are old and in shabby condition. Due to all these reasons the avg speed b/w MGS-BSB is very low.
