A suggested model rake composition for long distance mail/express trains is as under:
LOCO/SLR1/GEN1/GEN2/GEN3/S1/S2/S3/S4/S5/S6/S7/S8/PC/B1/B2/B3/A1/A2/HACC/FC/GEN4/GEN5/MILITARY-PARAMILITARY-RMS/SLR2. that is a TOTAL of 24 COACHES comprising SLR-2, GEN-5, SLEEPER-8, MILITARY-1, PANTRY CAR-1, 3AC-3, 2AC-2, 1AC CUM AC CHAIR CAR-1, FC-1. To be applicable for all trains involving journey of more than 12 hours and day-night journeys.
> Not applicable for Rajdhani, Duronto, Garib Rath, Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi and Inter-City Expresses involving day journeys.
