Why is it that in the ages of Duranto and Yuva express, Howrah - Ahmedabad sector is grossly disregared? I believe there are as many Gujarati-s in Kolkata as Bengali-s in Vadodara-Surat-Ahmedabad-Jamnagar. A daily superfast between Kolkata and Gujarat is the need of the hour.

are you sure...this is hardly a 3 hr journey. it wont be a duronto then, it will be more like shatabdi. at least bhopal new delhi can be a overnight journey like ahmd-mum duronto.

Note that Shatabdis run with intermediate stops and in the form of short distance day train intercity trains.
Durontos carry non-stop tag and the intention seems to run long distance or short distance - non-stop - Duronto trains. Neither distance nor overnight journey seem to be the criterias for durontos (like Pune-Mumbai Duronto - very short distance but non-stop and hence duronto).

I really doubt the success of Mumbai-Pune Duronto, ifat all it is introduced. Earlier a Shatabdi was running between Mumbai and Pune but was discontinued due to poor response.If a Shatabdi having intermediate stops could not be successful then how can a Duronto having no intermediate stops be a success.

true. there was a shatabdi before and it wasnt successful, puneities are too obssesed with deccan queen (Pls note usage of the word, not to mean anything derogeatory, but to emphasise the love for deccan queen) and also never heard of CC or 2S type trains for durontos
