How many takers do you expect in this MS CGL stretch when there are number of locals and fast locals running.
May be you are not aware. These two trains come to CGL daily for parking. Rather than just wasting power, this will help railway get atleast few cash.
Its not MS CGL commuters. They won't take it, as this will have express fare. But Many people get down at MS and take EMU to Mambalam/Tambaram/Paranur. It will benefit them. Not just entire train. At least 15 to 20% of current traveller will be using this train.
Rather than running empty till CGL daily, these will help railway getting atleast few penny.

Unofficially it was coming to CGL for more than 1 year daily for parking and water filling purpose. Now SR just made it as official that's all. No surprise at all. FYI Chennai limits has been expand upto CGL nowadays unofficially, many Telugu speaking people are settled in these areas too. One example is SRM college lots of students from Andhara are residing near to Tambaram and Chengalpattu areas.Other than that many IT companies and automobile companies are close to Tambaram and CGL areas. Sizable telugu speaking people will definitely make use of this extension.
