A distance of 71+ kms by road from Jalpaiguri To Mathbhanga or 50 from NJP to Jalpaiguri and that too in North Bengal is a considerable distance by all means. And how many SF trains to Kolkata does NCB require? Or for that matter even NOQ? A train from Dhubri would probably not be a superfast and would probably take a lot more time and have ridiculous timings for the people of Jalpaiguri. Almost all SF trains originating from Bihar have scores of stoppages between PNBE and MGS. So why not have a few more for this if this will benefit more people? Look at the Northeast Express (JPE stoppage), or SF trains to South India (stoppage at Dhupguri) and the GHY-SBC express (with stoppages both at Dhupguri and JPE) and you would understand what I mean. were to agree to you then I think a stoppage at NCB is not justified simply because it is just around 20kms from NOQ the terminating station.
