By constructing just 1 km railway track at Daund to join Pune and Ahmadnagar lines, the entire reversal process at Daund for atleast 21 trains totaling to 48 services per week each direction for trains travelling between Pune and Ahmadnagar can be saved. This saves 40 minutes for each service. This is expected to benefit about 1 Lakh passengers per week. Number of passengers boarding from / alighting at Daund is hardly 1-2%, who can use alternate services. Alternately a station can be constructed in bypass line to help them use these trains.
