I tried the new portal of IRCP, www.indianrailways.gov.in and found the undernoted errors. 1.Ladies of age 58, my spouse dob; 01/07/1952, is displayed as not a senior citizen.As per notification it is senior citizen, and being accepted by IRCTC also, wef; 07/07/2011.
2.I JOURNEY PLANNER, I tried MULTIPLE STOPOVER, for example Journey from GAYA TO BANGALORE - SBC (via HOWRA - HWH) Jorney dt. 13/8/11 as under:

As I perceive about your difficulties with new portal could be
1-Female of 58 not being considered a senior citizen, at planning stage may not show, but while booking they must be taking care.
2- your tour plan Gaya Howrah, Howrah SBC, on 13aug, : there are two onward trains from HWH to SBC, but if you could see, that your choosing the specific tran from Gaya to HWH should reach in time for you to give you next train to SBC. So if you try selecting trains in time, it will...

Thanks.Actualy.sepearate journey ticket from Gaya to Howra and from Howra is available, but I will loose the benefit of telescopic fare.A.K.SAXENA
In that case you have options:
1- Mannual booking:try to book trhough PRS counter widow , and in paper form you have choice to ask for onward train booking too.
This should help you avail teleschopic fare benefit.

irps software must be counter free / people going to prs counters and geting paper ticket for telescoping benefit will be the old process, what is the use of new portal when irctc is doing the same busines.there must be something new irps website. a.k.saxena

that telescopic fare is not available for 'multiple onward joureny' you may choose accordingly to book the ticket.
I had presumed earlier that telescopic fare benefit is available to 'circular journey' ticket holders, and to 'goods trains where destination is fixed, but 'wagons' are shifted from one rack to another or are joined sometimes with passenger trains when destination is too remote and whole rack is not there to be carried and ultimately uneconomical.
