This picture was shared with me by a family friend from Kakinada, whose father was the Loco pilot on the inaugural run and served as the loco pilot for this train for several years before retiring as a Diesel loco pilot based at BZA around 1987.

I think it was a mixed gauge bridge. Most old photos show only a single bridge there.
It was actually Amaravati MG link type. In 1996 when the GC of GNT - Marmagoa started, Amaravati which ran between GNT - UBL was handed to BZA. Then Amaravati Link (BG) ran from BZA upto a certain stn where people used to get down and catch Amaravti MG Exp from that stn to continue their onward jrney. I remember two journeys of mine inn the years 1996 - 1998. In one journey Amaravati BG was upto Giddalur, and in Giddalur passengers shifted to Amaravati MG exp. In second journey, Amaravati BG was upo Nandyal. And at the time of that journey there was no MG service. Caught a bus to Gooty, and then to BAY.
I faintly remember that there was BZA-Nandyal MG ICE sometime during early 1990's.
MG trains in the section of GTl-GNT run upto only GNT. GNT-BZA is BG. Thats the reason amaravati was only upto GNT. Later after Guage conversion it was extended to BZA.
