18th September 2009, a red letter day for Indian Railways as India got her first Duronto from Sealdah to New Delhi amid much fanfare. The concept was unique in itself as passengers onboard were very much excited as becoming part of history. Media persons even tracked the train's movement all along. This day though also had its fair share of controversies as the pantograph of the WAP7 loco got entangled with a kite thread at Dankuni. But as destiny would have it, the fairy tale continued with Duronto overtaking Sealdah Rajdhani express on its way to New Delhi.
