My view is people prefer tirupati Gnt vja upto rjy sector for overnight as arrives early morning making night journey then prefer narayanadri which arrives midnight. The waiting list in tirumala will make travellers opt for DD up to vja rjy . in return journey people prefer Vskp vja Gnt ongole sectors most and again in Gnt tirupati.

Good that its being introduced before Pongal, hopefully it gets good patronage even in lean season not becoming a white elephant for IR.

There are already buses and a lot of passengers (pilgrims) who travel seated from TPTY to GNT, BZA, COA, VSKP. This is just another option.

This will definitely be a huge competitor for buses. At present, Tirupati-Kakinada bus costs Rs. 800(Super Luxury- Non AC-Avg. Reclinability). Whereas this DD costs around Rs. 770 till SLO. So, people till BZA/RJY/SLO will definitely prefer this train.
