Q. What is Jan Shatabdi Express/Train's??????
Ans. The Jan Shatabdi Express (literally "People's Shatabdi") is a more affordable variety of the Shatabdi Express, which has both AC and non-AC accommodation. The word 'Jan' refers to Janata (meaning 'people' in Hindi).

GA Roshan. You are right as far as JS is concerned. However, NDLS-Amritsar has 2 pairs of Shatabdis plying, one in the morning and another in the evening.

It is indeed a wonder that the TVC-CLT Jan Shatabdi has managed to keep up its speed throughout the journey.Even such prestigious trains are the victims of public prattle and die a traumatic death thanks to the suffocating number of stops. This one sets fire to the rails !!
Also, RajKiran, this train never gets a WDP.It is always hauled by a WDM-3A, usually homed at ERODE.

the main reason is that vivek, this train does not be hold for crossings. So As this train as only stop in Alappuzha and Kayamkulam in the single lane stretch, and no crossings, this train is allowed to run at its MPS of 75kmph in this route except duringg a small stretch in between the Haripad Ambalapuzha where the mPS is set to be 25-30 kmph
