Trains 13049/50 Amrtisar express and 13005/06 Amritsar Mail both from Howrah To Amritsar..looks one of them should be converted into a superfast train and with an aggressive time table..
As both of them run back to back one of them should be running as a superfast now..

Main Line is slower.
Punjab Mail gets trolled between Patna Saheb-Patna-Mughalsarai stretch.
Main Line is much much slower as compared to GC.

13005/6 ki route pe Bas KAN se JAJ take ASN ki control main hota hai....train is route pe jyada delay nhi karta balki JAJ PNC PNBE MGS uska delay hota hai.......

Converting them into Superfasts would mean removing some stoppages from their schedule which is not desirable since all such stations' passengers need to have direct connectivity with Kolkata and Amritsar (Although some redundant halts, especially back to back should be removed). This is the reason that IR started some SF trains like the Akal Takht and Durgiana Expresses.

PS: The need of the hour for IR is to LHBfy these 2 trains, complete the track doubling (and electrification) of the Varanasi - Rae Bareli - Lucknow Route and also the electrification (and

more...
doubling) of the Chandausi - Aonla - Moradabad Route for slightly speeding up these trains so that their TTs can be modified :)

But I think maybe 13005 should be converted n some halts can be removed in between where 13005 and 13049 follow the same route back to back....Like you see 12505 northeast and 15483 Mahananda express..One is superfast and other one an express and for large time they follow each other..
So I think a bit of increase in AVG speed should be done..And doubling and electrification should also be done quickly..
