Every bigger state needs a separate Railway Zone in their name.
Example...SCR divides as Telengana Railway Zone ( TG zone )and Andhra Pradesh Railway Zone( AP zone)

UT names for easy understanding by any Indians .All the states / UT have been compelled to form joint ventures companies and Railway infrastructures have to be developed for the concerned State Zone.
All the major state zones are formed with state divisions with state railway line jurisdictions and stations .Some remote station may be exempted for operation reasons may be combined in the other state zone.
Example..
A lone station Kuppam in between Jolarpettai jn of Tamilnadu and Bangalore of Karnataka may be combined either in Karnataka zone or Tamilnadu zone.etc.
Smaller state / UT are combined in one Railway zone.
